9.3 error "linux hal.hotplug [xxxxxx]: DEVPATH is not set"
Just installed a fresh 9.3 on a new machine I just put together.... I keep getting "linux hal.hotplug [xxxxxx]: DEVPATH is not set" in /var/log/messages Anybody have an Idea where I should start looking?

No, but if it's any comfort, I get the same error in 9.3.
It's not really an error message. What it means is that a hotplug event that didn't involve a device happened. Probably you inserted a CD or something similar

Okay, so it's a useless message. Sending Messages that have not meaning to the system log is an error in my book, but I'll grant that it's a cosmetic thing of secondary importance. At anyrate thanks for the information... Jerry
Hello, I had the same problem. No digital usb kamera working. I resolved the problem with a small change in '/etc/fstab' and restarting the system. Ans usb and my camera are live again! See whether you have in /etc/fstab the line usbdevfs /proc/bus/usb usbdevfs noauto 0 0 you have to change to usbfs /proc/bus/usb usbfs noauto 0 0 And that's all!.
