I want to get a wireless keyboard & mouse a system I am building. 9.2 Pro is what I'll be installing. Any recommendations? Rich -- Remember, all Windows-based machines are, by definition, fault tolerant. They run Windows don't they?!?!?!?
I'm currently using a Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse combo and they work great. Although the special buttons aren't configurable in Linux (at least not that I've found) all the basic stuff works flawlessly. -----Original Message----- From: Rich Goodwin [mailto:rgoodwin1@cox.net] Sent: Sunday, January 23, 2005 4:14 PM To: SuSE List Subject: [SLE] Wireless keyboard & mouse? Hi, I've got a cheap Speednet wireless keyboard and mouse and they work perfectly. As for multimedia button configuration have a look at this hande little helper - and if you've got a "proper" make chances are that everything is preconfigured and out of the box for you: Suse|Utilities|Desktop|KlineakConfig Ingo
I also went the cheap route and bought a MicroInnovations wireless keyboard and mouse. Both worked straght out of the box. I have my keyboard layout currently configured to the Logitech iTouch Internet Navigator, and 16 of the 20 extra buttons are accessible to be mapped. I have the mouse set as a Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer (usb). It doesn't seem to acknowledge the extra side buttons, but I don't use them anyway. I have a logitech wireless set (mouse & keyboard) on both my home and office installs. Home has the Cordless MX Duo running 2000, SuSE 9.1, 8.3, 7.3, and Ubuntu 1.0 all without any problems. Work has the Cordless Elite Duo running 2000, SuSE 9.2, and MemphisLinux. Again without any problems. Buttons and scroll work just fine. dave -- David C.
