Hi, It's all in the subject line.

with "kernel loading...". Only the reset button is active. Tipical answers to this problem was: "switch to text mode"; "use a different screen resolution" and the like. None of these actions seems to work for me.

Try to install without acpi. A selection in the boot-menu from the install-cd/dvd.
No use. It's one of the test I'm speaking about, in that qutoed line up above... You see.. having a prompt after the install comand (*any* install camand) let me think that the kernel started, but was unable to "speak" to the screen. But the screen is "known", anyhow..

Any other ideas? :-( Ciao, Ermanno

try to install with failsafe option Meaning choose this option from the menu given -- Togan Muftuoglu Unofficial SuSE FAQ Maintainer http://dinamizm.ath.cx

I said I tried every menu command. The only working one was memtest (and the hard disk boot). Is anybody using the p3tde6 motherbord?? I still think something breaks, with the 8.2 distribution (or is it just the kernel??) and my motherboard. BTW.. What kernel version the 8.2 distribution has?
