After a week of struggling, I finally got it to work. I'm running KDE2 and it looks great. Thanks to everyone for your suggestions and insight ... I even have Quake3 and Unreal Tournament running on a 1280x1024x24 bit screen. Beautiful and run quickly (at about the same speed as Windows 2000) I am so relieved ... but the nvidia 0.95 driver as supplied from Suse doesn't want to run on an SMP system, so for right now I'm using a single processor system. I tried to compile it while running an SMP kernel but sax2 keeps complaining about the nvidia driver not matching the kernel... anyone know what I might be doing wrong?
