[opensuse] in case your Yast printer module crashes (10.1) [SOLVED]
Hi, I just noticed last week that all my 64 bit machines with 10.1 (and also from a colleague) stopped running "yast2 printer". The module crashes while building the database. I reported the bug here: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=254749 Apparently it is related to another bug from 10.2 beta that was fixed at 10.2 release, but it looks like they won't fix it for 10.1-64b (32 bit seems to be unaffected). So, I just wanted to post the simple solution here: delete the file /var/lib/YaST2/ppd_db.ycp and start yast2 printer again Cheers, Carlos FL -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Thanks, I had that problem, but worked around it with localhost:631. That fixes yast2 printer for me. tks agin, -- Patrick Shanahan Registered Linux User #207535 http://wahoo.no-ip.org @ http://counter.li.org HOG # US1244711 Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 OpenSUSE Linux http://en.opensuse.org/ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
