zmd-updater hang on FTP timeout
Hi, This evening there were some security updates available in zmd-updater. I pressed go, and after a certain amount of disc and network traffic, and some CPU use, everything has gone quiet, and the update is not complete. The last few lines of /var/log/messages/zmd-backend.log are attached (to avoid wrapping them). At the moment, the zmd-updater front end is completely greyed out, with the title-bar "Updating Software - 0%", and nothing is happening (network/cpu/disc). What do I do next? How can I get it cleanly restarted to try again? It looks as if there is no handling of an FTP timeout in zmd-updater. Is that true? <jaw drops> -- Bill Gallafent.

Please file a bugreport at bugzilla.novell.com so that we can investigate this. Please attach the logfiles /var/log/zmd-messages.log and zmd-backend.log To fix it run as root "rczmd stop" - and kill zmd if needed. then start it again... :-( Andreas -- Andreas Jaeger, aj@suse.de, http://www.suse.de/~aj/ SUSE Linux Products GmbH, Maxfeldstr. 5, 90409 Nürnberg, Germany GPG fingerprint = 93A3 365E CE47 B889 DF7F FED1 389A 563C C272 A126
