[SuSE Linux] Eliminate the xconsole....?
A couple of months ago someone posted how to eliminate the xconsole from opening when starting an x-window manager. Seems I've managed to loose the copy of that post. Would someone repost what to do to stop it? The only message I've ever seen in it is when I'm shutting down the box. I've no need for it. look in the "/usr/X11/lib/X11/xdm/Xsetup_0" file and comment out the xconsole line. The line should look something like the one below. xconsole -geometry 480x130-0-0 -daemon -notify -verbose -fn fixed -exitOnFail If you are not using xdm, it might be in your .xinitrc or the system wide xinitrc file.
