[S.u.S.E. Linux] KDE auto hide menu / taskbar
Hello folks, I was just wondering if anyone out there might know how to shorten the delay in kde to autohide menu / task bars. Also, I have noticed that unless the profile file in my ~/ director is made not hidden, it does not get executed. Is this normal in S.u.S.E. or do I have something fragged in my install. Also I noticed that ~./bashrc does not seem to be looked at when I onen a terminal window under X, any ideas? If you use bash, global settings are defined in /etc/profile, and local settings are defined in .profile. That isn't specific to SuSE, it is specific to bash. Perry Moon wrote:

Michael, This is only vaguely related to the above comment, but I'd like to configure "root" for the settings in profile, and I'm not entirely sure how to accomplish this. (BTW, I use bash exclusively.) Specifically, I'd like to be able to use the command-line aliases that S.u.S.E. engineers have conveniently placed in profile when I'm logged in as superuser. These would be aliases like "o," "l," and the like. Yep, this question is pretty basic, but I can't seem to manage to get a handle on it. -- Glenn -- PS -- Great Sailor Moon WM theme. If you don't mind all users getting these aliases put them in /etc/profile, otherwise try creating a file /root/.profile and declaring your aliases there.

I am trying to put together a Voltron (Go-Lions) theme, but there just aren't any high quality Voltron scans on the web, that I've been able to find, so that is on hold. I am thinking about a Dominion Tank Police Theme also. There is a link on my WindowMaker page to an Anime Themes for WindowMaker site as well. -- ==================================================================== Michael Lankton <A HREF="http://tasteslikechicken.ml.org"><A HREF="http://tasteslikechicken.ml.org</A">http://tasteslikechicken.ml.org</A</A>> ==================================================================== - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e

Thanks for the quick reply! I thought that /root/.profile might do the trick; I created the file, ".'d" it as superuser (in /root), and the aliases were immediatedly usable. Wonder if I'll need to re-.'d it on my next reboot. We'll see. Thanks. -- Glenn -- - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e
