As in with the errors or without the mondo errors :-) Have you looked into BackupEdge from Microlite. It does bare metal recovery quite well. -- Ken Schneider UNIX since 1989, linux since 1994, SuSE since 1998 -- Check the headers for your unsubscription address For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the archives at http://lists.suse.com Please read the FAQs: suse-linux-e-faq@suse.com

If it weren't for the last minute, nothing would get done.
I use Storix Desktop. It does a good job of doing a bare metal restore. As a matter of fact, you can supposedly even restore to different hardware and it will make the necessary adjustments. You can also make partition modifications, change the file system, and a do a number of other things at restore time. Their email support is also quite good. The only issue I've had with a recovery is that you end up with a slightly modified grub menu, but it saves your original one off to the side so that you can re-install it after the restore finishes (It also supports LILO). It costs $99. If you're going to go the non-free route, also take a look at Acronis Tru-Image. Makes exact copies of partitions regardless of filesystem or other characteristics. -- Check the headers for your unsubscription address For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the archives at http://lists.suse.com Please read the FAQs: suse-linux-e-faq@suse.com
