I have a US Robotics ISA modem that I tested in a Suse 8.0 machine, it works fine. when I install it in an 8.2 machine, yast2 does not detect it. when I run: echo "ATDT4572622" >/dev/modem it seizes the phone line, gets dial tone, does not dial, then disconnects after about 2 seconds. This leads me to believe that the device/com port setting is correct. My object is to use this machine on the internet, but I cannot connect. thoughts? -- John Sowden American Sentry Systems. If I remember correctly, it is because the serial ports are initialized before isapnp. Add the appropriate setserial command to /etc/init.d/boot.local. IIRC, that got it working for me. -- Joe Morris New Tribes Mission Email Address: Joe_Morris@ntm.org Web Address: http://www.mydestiny.net/~joe_morris Registered Linux user 231871 God said, I AM that I AM.
