[opensuse] libre office + thunderbird --> acces denied to user
Hi everyone! Since about 3 days I encounter a strange situation: When I try to open a file from my home/desktop folder with libreoffice the program says, that the file is protected by "unkown user". I can just open it as a working copy or ready-only. Also Thundebird replied, that it is not possible to safe the new e-mails to the disc. Strangly, after a restart, tb worked fine, but libreoffice still has the same problem. Acutally i didn´t make any changes on my system, beside an update…Might this be a security issue? Thanks, Benjamin.

difficult to know what happens remotely :-(. But what I would try to do is: * verify of I ca, write to the same place with dolphin or touch in an xterm * lokk at mount to see if for any reason the partition is not ro * verify the file permissions on the beginning :-) jdd -- http://www.dodin.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Thx everyone! Actually the problem was in libreoffice, that it created a lock-file, which was not deleted after the session, this lead libreoffice into troubles when opening the file again. I deleted the hidden lock-file and now the problem is solved. Tb also works fine again. Maybe some shutdown or hybernate lead the programs not to delete the log files, don´t know … Cs.: http://de.openoffice.info/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=20530 Have a nice day! Again I have to ask! Again the problem with permission occured, but it isn´t a topic with regard to permission – I just wanted to print a file and cups said, that the file wos deleted, altough nothing happend! I then found out, that my /tmp folder is full! Which seems to be the problem, with regard to my problems – Is it unproblematic to delete everything in the /tmp folder as roo? Best, Benjamin! close all your running application if possible, but anyway it should not be a problem (just open file wont free space immeditely) jdd -- http://www.dodin.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

You have to log out of your graphical session first. Switch to text mode (preferable run level 1), there log in as root, and then you can erase "/tmp" safely. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 13.1 x86_64 "Bottle" at Telcontar)
