<https://gitlab.com/snippets/1965550> provides a patch for the problem ( for two months now). IMHO Nvidia is late to release a driver which includes that fix.
Is there or will there be a patch to support NVIDIA GF106 [GeForce GTS 450] for 390.132 for the 5.7 kernel series?
I'am not aware of a patch specific for 390.132. But the patch for 440.82 doesn't look specific for 440.82 because it only adds an include file to conftest.sh. So it might work for 390.132, too.
I extracted my patched for kernel 5.6 390.132.run file, changed to the extracted directory and ran patch -p1 -i ../kernel-5.7.patch but it failed with: patching file kernel/conftest.sh patch: **** malformed patch at line 16: this is beyond me, can someone advise. tks -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri Photos: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/piwigo paka @ IRCnet freenode -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

This might be a patch for 390.12 driver. Please test with applying this patch;
$sh ./NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-390.12.run --apply-patch kernel-5.7.patch
tks much. applied and working. see no problems. applied to patched 390.132 which was already patched for kernel-5.6 mv ./NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-390.132.custom.run ./NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-390.132.kernel-5.6.run sh ./NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-390.132.kernel-5.6.run --apply-patch kernel-5.7.patch -aqs mv ./NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-390.132.custom.run ./NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-390.132.kernel-5.7.run applied sh ./NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-390.132.kernel-5.7.run -aqs -dkms changed to graphical interface, running patch is available for anyone who need it: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/~paka/kernel-5.7.patch tks again, -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri Photos: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/piwigo paka @ IRCnet freenode -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

this is beyond me, can someone advise. You can apply the patch manually with a text editor. Look at the the patch text It includes 4 lines in two blocks with a + in the first line. These lines have to be added to conftest.sh ( without the +) . The number after the @@ at
