Can anyone tell me what this new driver brings except the completely new network capable installation procedure? I can't find any decent changelog with some info... Are some of the known issues in 4191 solved? Regards Harry PS.: anyone tried it already?

Thats the good news, bad news:
You need to get the RPM of them, and I cannot find them anywhere. SuSE 8.2 will be capable of running the new installer, not 8.1 or below.
Matt
Go to ftp://download.nvidia.com and then go to the dir marked "XFree86" and not "XFree86_40" (that will take you to the older versions). The newer 4349 versions are at the 1st directory and they have rpms for 7.x and and 8.x prior to 8.2. I have dl'ed them and will post my results on the list (wish me luck - 4191 was no fun at all).

I just installed it last night, rpm -hUv kernel then GLX (didn't have to use the nodeps or force flags) and it went right in. No issues and the frame rate and look is much better IMO. I seems to be a keeper :) Cheers, Curtis. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.7 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE+iakE7WVLiDrqeksRAisJAKCguaEIDhVAraKsYcO1wIvb0FwbPQCfTnCS eHglU0AaXsR9CkpN42+fYrc= =1V6d -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

Yup. Works like a charm. The installer (.run) worked fine on my 7.3 box.

Well, the new installer worked just fine on my 7.3 box (though you need to have kernel sources installed as it will bacially do a rebuild from source) Kind regards, -- Gerhard den Hollander Phone :+31-10.280.1515 Global IT Support manager Direct:+31-10.280.1539 Jason Geosystems BV Fax :+31-10.280.1511 (When calling please note: we are in GMT+1) gdenhollander@jasongeo.com POBox 1573 visit us at http://www.jasongeo.com 3000 BN Rotterdam JASON.......#1 in Reservoir Characterization The Netherlands This e-mail and any attachment is/are intended solely for the named addressee(s) and may contain information that is confidential and privileged.
