[SLE] loading modules in SuSE 6.3
After my update to 6.3, I recompiled my NIC driver and tried to load it by editing the entry in /etc/modules.conf. Unfortunately, when I boot, I get the message `modprobe can't find re100tx.o' The file is installed in /lib/modules/2.2.13/net with the same permissions as the other drivers. When I shutdown, I get the message that modules.conf is more recent than modules.dep. When I looked into modules.dep, I didn't see any entry for my driver so I added it manually. This did not solve the problem. Does anybody have any suggestions? You might just try running depmod -a while in /lib/modules. I don't know if that will help, but it might. Victor On Wed, 26 Apr 2000, Rod C. Johnson wrote:
