Booting from a USB hard drive
What are the possibilities for booting on older machine, which does not support USB in the bios boot sequence? I'd like to set up a boot floppy to do this, but am not sure how to include the modules to do this on the floppy. I'm running SuSE 8.1 on an older Pentium II. Does anyone have any experience w/this? Thanks
Is anyone aware of the current status of implementation of the new USB2.0 standard by SuSE or other Linux distributions? I have a Buslink USB 2.0 hard drive which I've installed SuSE 8.1 on that can be booted from the SuSE installation CD by choosing "Boot installed OS". I'd really like to be able to put Lilo on a floppy along w/a USB module and boot the USB disk directly from it... Is anyone aware if this is possible and how it might be done? Thanks in advance for advice rendered.
