Well, I know I'm a bit late in the "report on 9.2 installs" game, but I'm typing this from my brand new HP/Compaq nx9500 laptop which is sporting, not only an install of SuSE 9.2, but the SuSE decal where the designed for Windows XP decal once lurked. So here are the configuration issues I was afraid I'd run into and the result of dealing with them: 1) Successfully shrinking the XP partition? One chckdsk /f and all was good. 2) 17" wide-format LCD (1440x900)? Configured and working, no issues. 3) Broadcom Wireless? Configured via ndiswrapper and happy. 4) Geforce Go 5700? Installed via YOU, played the Doom 3 demo to prove it. 5) Old 9.1 system transferred? Mounted the old home directory via NFS and copied away. 6) Wireless keyboard, wireless mouse, and docking station functionality? All devices detected, configured and working! 7) Boot into WinXP? Sadly, this is the one portion of the program that didn't to so well. I can boot into WinXP with no problems, but boy, is WinXP dog slow and terrible to work in! I had to load drivers before the wireless keyboard and mouse would work and multitasking performance is a joke. -- __________ CorvusE Linux User #370082
