OK, Bit of a cheek to ask here, but I'm developing a Java Swing application *ON* SusE linux, so I'd like to know something about potential cross-platform support without asking too many different groups or starting flame wars :-) My little Java 1.3.1_02 program works just fine of SuSE and WinME (via "DOS" command window) But specifically does similar *EASY* access exist for WinXP or a typical "modern" Macintosh? Chris Last time I used a "Mac" was in the early eighties. Ah, fond memories... :-)

yeah, they all support it. -- Mads Martin Jørgensen, http://mmj.dk "Why make things difficult, when it is possible to make them cryptic and totally illogic, with just a little bit more effort?" -- A. P. J.
I like to select the platform-specific "look-and-feel" instead of the Swing-default "metal". This way neither windows-users nor others feel alienated... I.e., include try { UIManager.setLookAndFeel(UIManager.getSystemLookAndFeelClassName()); } catch(Exception e) { e.printStackTrace() } somewhere in the beginning of your program. /Lennart onsdagen den 20 november 2002 12.57 skrev Mads Martin Joergensen:

If by "modern" you mean MacOSX, yes. OS9 only has Java 1.1.8 plus Swing. -- Geoff Beaumont Geoff@stormhammer.com
