Hi All I have my Linux box set to configure the NIC using DHCP. Sometimes when I start my linux box the DHCP server is not running and so the NIC is configured later when / if the DHCP server is booted, no problems here. The problem I have is that if the DHCP server is not running Samba does not start, which is correct. What I need is some way of automatically starting Samba as soon as the NIC is configured. Does anyone have any ideas how to do this please. TIA Stewart

IIRC, you could use a script to start samba called by dhclient on exit (dhclient exit hooks I thinlk). -- Joe & Sesil Morris New Tribes Mission Email Address: Joe_Morris@ntm.org Web Address: http://www.mydestiny.net/~joe_morris Registered Linux user 231871 God said, I AM that I AM.
