[SuSE Linux] What is the xmix recording source?
The xmix sound mixer has three buttons for designating the recording source as "line in", "microphone", or "CD". However, xmix seems to be capable of receiving inputs from several sources at once, and selecting one or the other of those had no audible effect. What exactly is the "recording source"? Also, what is the FM device and why is it grayed out? More generally, is there a better source of information than the man page, which gives hardly any information at all about how to use xmix?
