Yes, Corel has not put in on their site, and even is not selling WP9 for Linux anymore from their site. They do not even have the upgrade for WP8 for Linux with the increased fonts for sale, upon my call to them. You can get WordPerfect upon a search from sourceforge. Remember, you must install the older libc5 -- Best regards, Gary

UPDATE, I cannot find Wordperfect 8 on sourceforge. It was there a few weeks ago. I also checked Tucows and ctnet, and it cannot be found there either. I have no idea what is going on. -- Best regards, Gary
Try ftp.dreamtime.org/pub/linux/wp8/wp8.tar.gz (yeah, I found it on Tucows last week too and now it is gone.) Be sure and install libc5 BEFORE trying to install WP8 and install as root. Then go to www.corel.linux and get a registration number before running. HTH, Jeffrey Quoting Gary <medman@mcleodusa.net>:

I tried this in a terminal window: jozien@jozien:~$ /opt/wp8/wpbin/xwp & [1] 735 jozien@jozien:~$ bash: /opt/wp8/wpbin/xwp: No such file or directory [1]+ Exit 127 /opt/wp8/wpbin/xwp jozien@jozien:~$ ./xwp bash: ./xwp: No such file or directory jozien@jozien:~$ sh /opt/wp8/wpbin/xwp /opt/wp8/wpbin/xwp: /opt/wp8/wpbin/xwp: cannot execute binary file jozien@jozien:~$ Perhaps when you download it and try it, you may find what my problem is. jozien

Hello, Maybe a stupid question, but don't you need to install it first? When WP was included in the SuSE distr.(7.0) , it was always necessary to run the 'install' script first, and then it was possible to run wordperfect by the xwp command. Best regards, Bart

In an earlier thread, John Craig mentioned to do the following: in a terminal do cd /usr/i486-linux-libc5-lib ln -s libXpm_wx.so libXpm.so.4 cd This was for SuSE 7.2, as SuSE seems to need a link to the old libXpm.so.4. This seemed to have done the trick. -- Best regards, Gary Today's thought: Bills travel through the mail at twice the speed of checks
