Hiall, I am usig OS 11.1 with KDE 4.2. when going to youtube (or any other video site) the video frame stays black right-clicking shows that Flash 10 is running but the about selection brings me to a generic page at adobe (not the "you are running flash xxx) and in the configuration I see that it is using /usr/lib/browser-plugins/libflashplayer.so The site plays ok in Firefox (where I was not able to find out where it gets the plugin from. Right clicking and selecting about here reveals flash 10,0,15,3. any idea? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

If it's the Firefox from our distribution it's also configured to look in /usr/lib/browser-plugin. about:plugin should tell you which version Firefox is using. Philipp -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Flash 10 does not play nice with Konqueror. There are two bug reports open about it on bugs.kde.org, one of them mine, but I think the problem lies more with Flash than with KDE and Adobe doesn't take Konqueror as a serious browser. Look for Flash 9 and install it. If it's not available for 11.1, check the non-oss repo for 11.0 and try that one. I actually have mine set up where Firefox will use Flash 10 and Konqueror will use Flash 9. It works well except I'd like to record at singsnap.com with Konqueror, but can only record with Flash 10. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
Ok, I added the 11.0 non-oss repository in yast. but this way it would obviously replace the flash 10 installation. how did you do the parallel install? On Thursday 26 February 2009 05:58:08 am Constantinos Maltezos wrote:

First of all, remove that repo, lol. You don't want that in there, confusing things. I meant you could download it simply by browsing through the repo with your web browser. What I did was install version 9 (which is default for openSUSE 11) from the repo, then download version 10 from adobe and place it in my ~/.mozilla/plugins directory. (Or something like that.) I then changed the options in Konqueror to move that directory to the bottom of the list so Konqueror would find the other one first. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
Worked as advertised! Thanks! On Friday 27 February 2009 02:22:39 am Constantinos Maltezos wrote:

Just to close the issue, if someone is looking this up: With the new update I did yesterday a new version of flashplayer 10 was installed and overwrote the flash9 installation I had for konqueror somehow. However, the new player seems to work. at least on youtube which didn't work before and some other sites I tried. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
