[opensuse] New Firefox/Mozillarunner -cause inbox count in Tbird to increment intermittently
Listmates, Latest firefox and it mozilla..runner is causing side affects in thunderbird. Specifically, on occasion, if I have 8 unread messages in my inbox and I'm working on something else, next I'll look over and have 16, after the next auto check for messages, I'll have 32 new messages. Searching the inbox, it is apparent that _no_ new messages have arrived, but only that the new-message count had doubled. Who does this one go to? -- David C. Rankin, J.D., P.E. I really can't believe that this is caused by Firefox and/or xulrunner. It also never happened for me and I'm running Firefox and Thunderbird all the time. Thunderbird shouldn't use any components from xulrunner or Firefox so it sounds unrelated. Wolfgang, Another symptom is that when this occurs, looking at messages in threaded mode and with threads collapsed, there will be underlined threads indicating new messages below, but upon expanding the thread, there is nothing new there, but the top message in the thread remains underlined. I don't know what is causing it, but the very first time I ever saw this after using thunderbird for a number of years was just 10 minutes after the latest mozilla update 2-3 days ago. -- David C. Wasn't it a Thunderbird update specifically? Which exact version of Thunderbird do you use? Wolfgang -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

openSuSE 2.0.0.17 (Seems like this has been the same version for several months -- I may be thinking about .012) Here is a screenshot of some of the weird behavior: http://www.3111skyline.com/download/screenshots/moz/tbird_thread_err.png In the screenshot, you are looking at the "Newegg.com - RMA Confirmation" that has been expanded and then collapsed, but "ghost" images of the expanded message remain in the message list. Also notice the underline under the message title indicating an unread message in the thread. The problem is there are _no_ unread messages in the thread. I don't know what to make of it. -- David C. Wolfgang, I have compressed my inbox and it seems to have helped with the thread ghosting problem. -- David C. Rankin, J.D., P.E.
