From what I understand, Service Packs are cumulative so jumping from SLES 8 GA to Service Pack 3 (skipping Service Pack 2) is perfectly ok to do... However, looking at the INDEX.gz on the SP2 CD shows this RPM (as an example):

/CD1/UnitedLinux/src/gcc-33-3.3-118.src.rpm yet checking INDEX.gz on SP3 CD1, I don't see anything with gcc-33 in it... So it seems to me that if I apply SP3 on top of GA, I won't get the updated gcc-33 RPMs. Am I missing something? Thanks in advance! ---------- Dan Behman IBM Software Development Lab ----------
