You have a couple of options:
1) When using the Desktop CD, when you get to the final step prior to clicking the installation, click the advanced button and tell it not to install GRUB. If you do not install GRUB then you will have to manually edit your Vista bootloader information.
2) Install Kubuntu utilizing Wubi from the Desktop CD. Insert the Desktop CD into your CDROM drive while Vista is running. The autorun should kick in and bring you to a main window. From there you could select the Wubi stuff. This will install Kubuntu to a virtual partition that is created with Wubi. Wubi will even edit your Vista bootloader for you. Wubi will install Kubuntu on your Vista box just like you would install any other piece of software. So removal is as easy as doing the Uninstall stuff for Vista.
Hi, Where is my Suse? I have a second drive along my 1st drive with win xp on first base, thus installed opensuse on my second drive, after I restarted the machine, wind xp seemed gone and suse being ignored. After reconfig the bios and resetting reconfiguration, wn xp is back and both drives are recognized. However how do I start opensuse? John
Hi, I had hundreds of messages in error deleted most of them, this one I recovered, so let us start from there. Somehow I have been able to have win xp on my first drive and opensuse on my second, It is late, 1 am in the morning. I' report back by the end of this week. Thanks, John Heinen
Chris, Some years ago I also had Mandrake on my computer, and I could get on the internet rather easy, nowadays I have problems with that part, I guess it's the diversification's of dialup broadband etc.
Linux programs didn't get any easier, but more complicated due to it.s diversifications, believe me. Therefore I have a second computer and it is old very old but it is my test rabbit before I get into a major operation on my daily computer. I have two hard drives in my computers, another security, Win xp on drive and suse on the second At the time of installing suse the installer came to a point if I wanted to install it on it on hda.,, but I suggested hdb.. suse got onto my second drive. When all done I had to correct the bios for an adjustment. That is for the startup from the primary drive. Without the adjustment windows seen mysterious absent, however it is there. Another reason for a second drive is to keep Linux safer from the pirates. You could install suse on your first drive by using WUBY but there suse is just as vulnerable from the pirates as windows is...
Where is Suse? It took me awhile, but I did it! I have win xp on my 1st drive and Opensuse on my second ..and both are easily accessible. Eureka Would someone guide me into installing my my usb 56k robotics modem, we are on dial-up Thanks. John H
Being on dial-up I would think that you wouldn't appreciate all this unnecessary quoted material.
This is called full-quoting and is generally frowned upon in the opensuse lists.

thanks for you attention.
Right about unnessary..... but I don't understand the last paragraph: This is called fullq........ and frowned.........? John H -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

You have publicly replied to private/off-list mail. If you consider it unnecessary, why don't you do something about it? There is a <delete> key on your keyboard?
but I don't understand the last paragraph: This is called fullq........
full-quoting is quoting the entirety of the message being answered.
and frowned.........?
"frowned upon" = showing distaste

John H There are two addons for thunderbird one reply to list which adds a reply to list function to your right click menu another collapses the replies to make it easier to read long threads its called quote collapse. I find both addons very useful. Its annoying receiving two copies of a list mail.
