Hello, Is anyone on this list familiar with Open Exchange server? I want to replace Exchange 5.5 with OE, however I still need shared contacts & Calendar for our sales staff, who will still be using Outlook. If OE can do this then I would abandon MS Exch quicker than quick. Exchange has been the bane of my IT existence. Thank you, ~James

I think that OE can do it, but am not sure that Outlook plugin can handle Free/Busy lists. I've heard that Kolab.org can do this with it's plugin. I think that both are based on openldap, cyrus and postfix. CPH

take a look at egroupware, has a nice web interface, and you can use kontact as well, (otlook only as mail and addresbook), but the web client is veri friendly and nice at look.
Thank you,

kolab http://www.kolab.org is especially made for this. You can keep on using outlook if you like. But use other clients as well. -- Richard Bos Without a home the journey is endless

Open Xchange has that on the feature list. You can ask on their mailing lists. We use Open Xchange, but not with Outlook. The commercial version has an installer and a web admin interface. It's designed to work on SLES9.

Thank you,
~James I have replaced a couple of exchange 2000 servers with kolab, it is really impressive. There is a working plugin for outlook (unfortunately not OSS, but cheap), full kontact integration, and a fairly stable web client (horde). Very easy to install, active community, loads of help available. Cheers, H
