I'm a total newbie so sorry if this is a stupid q: but I have just installed SUSE 10.1, and I'm a bit confused. When I look under system settings my board is listed as an K8N4-board, but I actually have an A8N-SLI-DELUXE board. Is this an error, and if yes - does anybody know how to get SUSE to recognize my board? Also does anyone have some suggestions on how to configure SUSE to get the best performance out of this board? My specs: A8N-SLI DELUXE ATHLON 64 3200+ WD300 SATA HD 1 Gig ram thanks in advance - SUSE looks great!

Hej Morten, SUSE doesn't care which kind of mobo your PC has - there are just too many boards out there. If SUSE reports the board as a K8N4, it's most probably because that's what the BIOS says.

It is not an error, and it doesn't matter :-)

When you ask for best performance, you always have to consider "for which workload"? As a server, for plain desktop use, for number-crunching with MatLab, for gaming or playing Solitaire :-) /Per Jessen, Zürich
