SuSE V9.1 with wirelsss mouse & keyboard
I have SuSE V9.1 installed and am looking at the possibility of using a wireless mouse and keyboard. The user in this case is having difficulty with movinga standard mouse due to a muscular problem with the shoulder and arm.I have been advised that using a wireless mouse can ease this type of problem from someone who had a similar experience. I can obtain a M$ wireless keyboard and optical mouse but cannot find it listed anywhere in the SuSE hardware database. Can anyone tell me if that will work OK with 9.1, or suggest any similar devices that do. I am using the kernel 2.6.4-52 Any advice appreciated. Don't know about this particular case , but I bought a Wireless mouse and keyboard not long ago. I didn't buy an USB but a ps/2 and it works perfect on 9.1. The receiver connects to the Computer and the board and mouse connects to the receiver . ( the receiver also recharge the batteries, so you never be caught). System is called A4tech. Thanks for the information, seems like I can safely move on. Best wishes, John __________ This email has been pre-scanned using the latest Anti Virus software for your peace of mind.

Pretty much any mouse or keyboard (Microsoft, Logitech) that uses PS/2 or USB will be supported as at _least_ a 3 button mouse, with wheel. What might not be supported would be the fancy 5th, 6th, 7th etc buttons. I would like to warn you - from personal experience - that a mouse with batteries inside it will probably drag more from it's weight than a corded mouse will from friction. I don't know if this is part of the issue or not. In particular I have found rechargeable mice to be particularly heavy. It's not the kind of thing you notice when you pick it up, but rather after working with it all day. Your best bet might be a very cheap (which almost automatically means light) optical mouse (opticals have less friction than ball mice) and if the cord is dragging, tape the middle section of the cord up in the air, and if it's to short, of course buy an extention. Hope that helps. -- ---------------------------------------------------- Jonathan Wilson Cedar Creek Software http://www.cedarcreeksoftware.com
