Hello everyone I originally sent this to the amd64 list but perhaps these problems are unrelated to the kernel/processor. Two hours of RFM and Google and I can't solve these: 1) I can't print from the gimp -> tons of blank pages. Even after turning accounting off in /etc/foomatic/filter.conf 2) No print quality choices (plain paper, grayscale, medium quality color, high quality color, photo etc) on any other application (OO, mozilla, etc) The printer is HP Photosmart P1000 which worked very very very very very well under my old SuSE 8.2 system with absolutely no need to download anything from the web. I've got both a foomatic_hpijs queue and a CUPS-GIMP queue which test well. In a possible answer to #2, do I have to create manually a queue for every single print quality choice? I never had to do that before! Any help from a printing veteran? Cheers and an Exciting New Year

Not that this will help you, but I too cannot print successfully from gimp. It acts like it prints, the cups error log shows it printing, but nothing prints. This is with a HP Deskjet 722c that prints fine from other apps, even fine from my laptop in raw printer mode. I think the issue might be with gimp.
