The brand-new GNOME 2.12...
Hi, Does anyone have a good guess, when the subj. GNOME version will be available in SUSE's supplementary folder? Thanks, Pelibali PS. Any clever ideas, how to check the files coming from that folder, where no MD5SUM file is provided? No joke, but real interest; in our network 'accidents' happen too frequently...

Most probably after 10.0 has been released. That seems to be the big priority at the moment

With rpm you get that for free. The md5 is baked into the file you download and is verified when you try to install it. The odds against the file being corrupted in such a way that it has both a corrupted md5 and other file corruption exactly to match it are astronomical You can also check the rpm without installing it by running rpm --checksig <file name> Note that this may complain about the signature as well as the md5 sum. If you're not interested in that (but you should be) then add --nosignature to the command line
