And you don't really need it at all.... just install with --nodeps and opera 7.11 seems to work just fine.

well, i installed lesstif (because of libXm.so.2) and
then opera 7.11 with rpm.
it doesn't work (ie won't start at all). rpm says that
it is installed but when i try to erase it it says
that it is not installed.
any ideas what to do???

Can you start opera from a terminal window and report the errors? Dylan -- Sweet moderation Heart of this nation Desert us not We are between the wars - Billy Bragg

I'm guessing you installed the shared library version of opera. There seems to be some problem with that (thank you, gcc people). Try installing the static version instead
rpm says that it is installed but when i try to erase it it says that it is not installed.
Not sure what you mean here, but I *think* you're running the wrong commands rpm -U or rpm -i expects a file name. This is the name you see when you do "ls". rpm -e on the other hand expects a package name. This is *usually* (though not always) the file name minus the version and .rpm extension. So, for example, in the case of opera, the package name is simply "opera", so to remove you do rpm -e opera
