[opensuse] Nimbus fonts in openSUSE 12.2
Hello: I used to have Nimbus fonts in earlier openSUSE versions. In Libreoffice (oS 12.2) font selector these fonts (Nimbus Roman No9 L, Nimbus Sans L) are missing. Package "ghostscript-fonts-std - Basic Fonts for Ghostscript" is installed and supply URW-Nimbus fonts in /usr/share/ghostscript/fonts. Are these font not the same required for Libreoffice? How could I get these fonts for LO? Thanks, Istvan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Hi Istvan

Thank you. I have the fonts too in /usr/share/ghostscript/9.05/Resource/Font dir but the system does not see them. I looked into font path setup at http://doc.opensuse.org/documentation/html/openSUSE_113/opensuse-reference/c... And base on this added the line <dir>/usr/share/ghostscript</dir> between <fontconfig> and </fontconfig> of the /etc/fonts/local.conf file. Now my system sees Nimbus fonts: # fc-list|grep -i nimbus /usr/share/ghostscript/fonts/n019023l.pfb: Nimbus Sans L:style=Regular Italic /usr/share/ghostscript/9.05/Resource/Font/NimbusSanL-ReguItal: Nimbus Sans L:style=Regular Italic ... I wonder why I have to add manually this path to font directory list. It should be added by the system at the installation of ghostscript and ghostscript-font-std. I also looked at oS 12.2 documentation at http://doc.opensuse.org/documentation/html/openSUSE_122/opensuse-startup/cha... but I guess that one is inaccurate. It refers to file /etc/fonts/suse-font-dirs.conf, which is missing in my system. Plus, oS 12.2 documentation contains minimal information on adding fonts to the system; the 'reference' even do not mention font installation.
