Hi all.... I have a system that I'm dual booting W$2K/ SuSE 9.0. I just upgraded this system from W$95 to 2K. Of course the MBR was wiped out by 2K. My problem is now when I try to restore it by yast it does not work. The menu.lst file is correct and YAST says that its restored the MBR. BUT when I reboot all I get is " GRUB " in large letters and the system hangs. Any ideas what to do? I'm new so this may not work. I had a similar problem with my laptop when switching between dual boot with XP and SUSE. I finally went into the installer and deleted all partitions - then reinstalled and it worked - but I was only reinstalling SUSE as a single OS and getting rid of XP entirely. dse On Thursday 19 February 2004 08:14, James Hatridge wrote:

Boot the system using the rescue mode after the system is booted, as root run grub-install. That should fix your problem. -- Ken Schneider unix user since 1989 linux user since 1994 SuSE user since 1998 (5.2)
