This list used to generate upwards of 200 posts per day. Lately, the number of posts have been in the single and low double digits. Thanks. -- Don Henson

Yep.. It was a quiet weekend. Maybe 14 or so messages over the weekend. Not uncommon. But the Novell fora are bi-gated to the list, aren't they? /Per -- Per Jessen, Zürich (4.8°C) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I don't think so. The few times I looked at it the posts don't look familiar to me. Why did they create a forum in the first place? They were created outside by other people that preferred forums. Later, I think two or three big forums joined and migrated the server room to somewhere with openSUSE and became "official". - -- Cheers, Carlos E. No, they aren't. They have an interface to NNTP (news), which has a few "glitches". For example, instead of quoting the previous post, they show some text like "quote" which I think via web-forum you click on it and it expands; but via NNTP you can not expand them, obviously. I was trying to find an example now, but I can't. [...] Ah, I couldn't with thunderbird, I found one with "pan": +++
[quoted text muted]
Guess what it'll run? 1.6 million Power processing cores on Linux :D ++- Ah! In thunderbird the post shows complete with the quote as "quote". Mmm... Got it, there is a setting in 'pan' under view/body to view the quotes. I think I'm going to prefer 'pan' to 'thunderbird'. Or, there is a security announcement nntp group, which posts reads like this: +++ bind DNS poisoning attack problems 11 July 2008 'More...' (http://www.novell.com/linux/security/advisories/2008_33_bind.html) ++- or: +++ SUSE Security Summary Report 03 Mar 2009 'More...' (http://www.novell.com/linux/security/advisories/2009_5_sr.html) ++- which is close to useless unless you click and browse. I'm used to get the security announcements by email, complete and PGP signed. Another "glitch" is that on the forum it appears they can move a thread to another forum; when you see it via an nntp reader, it just dissapears. They also have some strict rules, and I'm used to the "liberty" of these mail lists. However, people seem to like forums, they are full of posts and people, it seems. Although I do not see German or Spanish or French ones, I wonder why. - -- Cheers, Carlos E. I think its because Spring is, at last, starting to come. So allot of emailers are out in the garden. :) JIM -- Jim Hatridge Linux User #88484 Ebay ID: WartHogBulletin -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

ROTFL! X'-) We can start one. Let me see... how about Microsoft and Tom-tom? Will FAT-32 with LFN have to be removed from Linux? Are we, Novell users, in any different predicament than the rest?
