Re: [SLE] Seemingly random program crashes
Thanks for the help. I checked .xsession-errors and found a lot of java errors like these: Ignoring error: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Width (-1) and height (-1) cannot be <= 0 (that was a mozilla error) And this: Something went wrong with LimeWire. Maybe you're using the wrong version of Java? (LimeWire is tested against and works best with with Sun's JRE, Java 1.4+) The version of Java in your PATH is: java version "1.4.2_06" Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.2_06-b03) Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.4.2_06-b03, mixed mode) YAST tells me that I have Java version 1.4.2.129-10 so is that maybe the problem ? I also dont have kdebindings3-java or kdebindings3-javascript installed. Thanks, Digsy

I'm using suse 9.1 and KDE. I keep getting seemingly random program crashes - Firefox or Ximian Evolution just disappear from the taskbar without even an error message.
I thought Firefox was to blame so I got the latest version. I also upgraded gtk-qt and checked my memory (which is fine).
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can

the problem down ? (I'm a noob so I'm kinda clueless here). I don't use evolution, but I do use Firefox on SuSE 9.2 Professional. You might want to check your logs, such as ~/.xsession-errors and /var/log/messages for a clue.I don't know if evolution has a log file itself or if you can turn on a debug mode. -- Jerry Feldman <gaf@blu.org> Boston Linux and Unix user group http://www.blu.org PGP key id:C5061EA9 PGP Key fingerprint:053C 73EC 3AC1 5C44 3E14 9245 FB00 3ED5 C506 1EA9
