What a weird question! i configured the Belgian keyboard with Yast 1 and 2. Did you try yast 1,change configuration file... There you have the right place to change the keyboard...

There are files called 'be' in the X keyboards directory, so have you tried setting Option XkbLayout in /etc/X11/XF86Config to "be"? It might work Regards Anders On Sunday 08 July 2001 00:35, ethhoack ethandphi exbeess wrote:

That leads to the questions: where exactly are those files? And is it possible to create a new keyboard layout without having to recompile XFree86?

All files regarding keyboards in X are in /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xkb I don't know what needs to be recompiled, but the files I found regarding country layouts (in 'symbols') were simple text files Anders On Sunday 08 July 2001 00:52, Paul Abrahams wrote:

Take a look in: /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xkb/symbols Try: more /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xkb/symbols/is That would show you MY keymap :) If you want to change the keymap or create a new one, fire up your favorite editor ( preferrably vi ;-) and hack away :-) -tosi
