Hello,
Have downloaded secscan from from your site and it looks pretty good. However, when I try and install on SuSE 6.0 I get the 'Too many services exist for inetd. - Terminating'.
What this tells you is that your machine is not secure. You have too many services enabled in inetd.conf. For an Internet connected machine, you really should have NOTHING enabled. Seriously consider every service you have enabled in /etc/inetd.conf, as each one is a potential hole for a cracker to get in through. If you don't need FTP, get rid of it. Most people don't need time, or pop3, or 90% of anything else in there.
Have studied the readme and can't find anything relevant. Is there a FAQ or similiar. If not could you point me in th direction of which/how many entries in inetd.conf I need to disable.
