Installing Mozilla 1.6
Has anyone had success in installing Mozilla 1.6 on SuSE 9.0 Pro? If so, what did you do (outside of uninstalling Mozilla 1.4 first). Thanks, ...Paul -- Managing good programmers/engineers is tantamount to herding cats...

I did: apt-get update, and then apt-get install mozilla Other options would be to go to ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/projects/mozilla and download the semi-official SuSE build there, or go to http://www.usr-local-bin.org and download the ULB Mozilla. Of course you could just download the vanilla 1.6 from http://www.mozilla.org or ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mozilla/releases and extract it to /usr/local and run from there. There's probably even more ways than that, but that'll get you started. Bryce Hardy (Santa Rosa, CA USA) cygnia@sonic.net

I did "apt-get upgrade" and got it. When you do "apt-get install mozilla" I think that would only work if it's not installed. But I could be wrong. -- Ben Rosenberg ---===--- #147972 ---===--- mailto:ben@whack.org -- Why do we bother with a suicide watch when someone is on death row? " Keep an eye on this guy. It also works when it is installed already. -- Richard Bos Without a home the journey is endless

I have usr-local-bin in my apt sources.list and it came down in an upgrade. It works pretty good. It's still not as fast as Firebird but it's quite nice. -- Ben Rosenberg ---===--- #147972 ---===--- mailto:ben@whack.org -- Why do we bother with a suicide watch when someone is on death row? Yes

I used the packages from www.usr-local-bin.org/mozilla.php and just did rpm -Uvh on them. -- James Ogley, Webmaster, Rubber Turnip james@rubberturnip.org.uk http://www.rubberturnip.org.uk Jabber: riggwelter@myjabber.net Using Free Software since 1994, running GNU/Linux (SuSE 9.0).
