-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Dear list, I've recently installed kernel 2.4.17 on a Toshiba Satellite S1670 CDS, but every time I use the lock key, the system goes into suspend (or standby) mode and I can't get it back again. Can someone also define the difference between suspend and standby, cause for what I've read about suspend mode, I should have used a dos partition so it could suspend to disk, but I've only got Linux running on this laptop. In the general setup of the kernel config I've activated following kernel options: [*] Power Management support <*> Advanced Power Management BIOS support [ ] Ignore USER SUSPEND [*] Enable PM at boot time [ ] Make CPU Idle calls when idle [*] Enable console blanking using APM [ ] RTC stores time in GMT [ ] Allow interrupts during APM BIOS calls [ ] Use real mode APM BIOS call to power off Maybe these settings are wrong. I don't know for sure since normally I left my laptop connected to the powerline without putting it to sleep. But now I need it on the road.
