[opensuse] 13.1 KDE/Network Scanner in a different subnet
Hi, I asked the same question with 12.3(?) before, and got no comments, so I was just hoping I could find a solution with 13.1. But I still can't find a way to let this 13.1 machine recognize an hp photosmart premium c309g as a scanner in Yast(GUI). Its printer part is working fine because I can specify it's IP(192.168.199.241/28), which is outside of this PC's subnet (172.16.1.0/24). Is there any way to install it via CLI? Thanks, Toshi -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Your c309g printer/scanner is supported by hp's driver package hplip and works well with networked printers/scanners. All functions of my color laserjet 2840 work using hplip-3.13.11-99.24.x86_64 and earlier and have for three years. Don't use YaST, hplip has it's own setup and control interface and you can designate the ip. And dedicate a single ip so you can always know where to print/scan. http://download.opensuse.org/update/13.1/x86_64/hplip-3.13.10-4.2.x86_64.rpm -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
