hi i am planning to upgrade my celeron to intel p4 with new motherboard old is 810 now i am planning 845 chipset based intel gvsr board how do i upgrade system/will system crash if i boot normally with old configuration ? can i just change hdd ? is there any way to repair such system thanks

If the existing system uses a SuSE-supplied Linux kernel, you're good to go--they configure their kernels for maximum hardware compatibility (possibly sacrificing some performance gains that could be had by tailoring the kernel to specific hardware). If you've built your own kernel that was narrowly configured for your old hardware, you could have a problem.

If you knew how do do the things that would make such repair necessary, you'd also know how to perform that repair, so I'm guessing you have nothing to worry about.
