[opensuse] Problem with zypper dup
I have an Alienware 7 that contains revision of Nvidia graphics hardware that never behaved well under 43.2. I have an old Leap 15.0 disk and I was going to try to upgrade it to the current version, which I believe to be 15.1. First I tried to perform a zypper up of the 15.0 system, but it always hangs on the question about the Nvidia License. Both yes or no responses yield no action. So I thought I would perform a zypper dup, going to 15.1, and see if anything was better. This also hangs on the question of the Nvidia license. Is there any tick to entering the response so that the operation will continue? I receive a response that there is a file in /var/tmp/TempFile.7pktXW. The the system hangs there. If I enter a 'q' for quit, I am returned to the same point. Thanks, Don -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Thanks, Don
Nope, none that I know of. Things have gotten better and I only have to enter "yes" one at the end (after pressing space bar several times to get there). I used to have to enter "yes" 4-times (once for each part of the package installed) -- David C. There was a problem some version back that would stop zypper in its tracks during a dup, but I do not remember what it was. You had to kill some process. I know I'm being vague, maybe someone remembers. 5 AM here, I'm going to sleep. Ah, I think it was a btrfs check hanging, when there was no btrfs partition. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. Have you tried 'zypper dup -l' (or, which is the same, 'zypper dup --auto-agree-with-licenses')? Pit -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
