I finally got around to installing 15.5 on my main machine here (up from 15.0) and with all such changes there are bumps along the way. The latest was trying to get VirtualBox to recognize USB items. I went through all the known and suggested fixes, the obvious ones like permissions and group memberships, etc but absolutely nothing was making a difference, to the point I started thinking "bug". So, I tossed a hail mary <-- American football term - and downloaded the .rpm from Oracle and told it to install and overwrite all. It did and the USB problem disappeared. Bug squished. The VB version on the OS repositories sucks. I have arrived at 15.5 late in the game; everyone else was probably aware of this item but thought I would put it out to the group anyway, just in case someone may have missed it.
This way, you may have installed proprietary USB plugins, Opensuse can not share ? I usually add rpm from : http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/ Dsant, from France On 5/1/24 15:48, Fred via openSUSE Users wrote:

You can use this Version: https://download.opensuse.org/update/leap/15.5-test/x86_64/ This is the test Repo for the Update Repo, if you will wait, you will get it as "normal" Update.

I have also noticed USB doesn't work on my ThinkPad. I've just disabled USB in VB for now. I moved my desktop computer back to 15.4, for other reasons, so I don't know what will happen there.
Leap seems to still have a bug that was fixed on TW. https://forums.opensuse.org/t/usb-not-enumerated-in-virtualbox-on-leap-15-5/... Not sure what is preventing the fix to move forward. Maybe this is the reason for your USB not working.. On Wed, May 1, 2024 at 7:10 PM James Knott <james.knott@jknott.net> wrote:

============================ I also thought it was a bug in the Leap version which is why I downloaded and installed the version from Oracle. I figured they own it, it's their baby so their version would probably be ok and it was. Fewer fingers into the pie, less chance of corruption. Whichever it was, the Oracle version worked and the Leap version did not. Fred =========================================
