[opensuse] Problems with Thunderbird 24 - IMAP - freeze on folder change
Hi, I recently upgraded from 12.1 to 12.3 with Thunderbird 24 and since then, TB is locking up every few minutes. Whenever a new mail comes in to some folder and I change folders and select the new message, the new message is not displayed. I get a "waiting" mouse cursor and nothing happens. If I go to another folder then, messages which were already there, are displayed or not (couldn't recognize any pattern). When I close the TB window, a "thunderbird-bin" process remains active in the process list. The mail server is a Cyrus IMAP server on a different physical machine in the same subnet. The IMAP server's logs don't show any suspicious entries. Access to the server with other clients works without problems. I need to use TB because it's apparently the only Linux MUA which supports smart cards via OpenSC. Any help/hints would be greatly appreciated! -Stefan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
The Trackerbird add-on seems to be the culprit. Have deactivated it and since several hours no freezing. -- (o_ Stefan Gofferje | SCLT, MCP, CCSA //\ Reg'd Linux User #247167 | VCP #2263 V_/_ Heckler & Koch - the original point and click interface

This problem exists also with TB 24 and openSUSE 12.3. -- Johannes Weberhofer Weberhofer GmbH, Austria, Vienna -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I occasionally experience this on Windows as well, and simply stepping to another message queue will often clear the delay. I suspect a T-bird bug which will probably clear it self in the next update. -- _____________________________________ ---This space for rent--- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Well, considering that I was talking about TB24 on OS 12.3... Deactivate the Trackerbird plugin. I can confirm now that Trackerbird is the problem and deactivating the plugin solves it. -S -- (o_ Stefan Gofferje | SCLT, MCP, CCSA //\ Reg'd Linux User #247167 | VCP #2263 V_/_ Heckler & Koch - the original point and click interface
