[SLE] ISDN connection fails - Help!
I am having great difficulty establishing a connection using ISDN; using isdnctrl I can dial the correct number, etc. but it seems no authentication is taking place (ISP says PAP is the correct setting). I have checked all of the files in /etc/ppp and /etc/isdn and can't see anything incorrect. Has anybody had a similar experience and if so what solved the problem? Here is the output of part of the /var/log/messages file before ipppd hangs up : isdn_net: ippp0 connected isdn_net: chargetime of ippp0 now 114860 sent [0][LCP ConfReq id=0x1 <mru 1524> <magic 0x59679bd3>] rcvd [0][LCP ConfReq id=0xc8 <auth chap md5> <magic 0x12d0dc13>] sent [0][LCP ConfNak id=0xc8 <auth pap>] rcvd [0][LCP ConfReq id=0xc9 <auth chap md5> <magic 0x12d0dc13>] sent [0][LCP ConfNak id=0xc9 <auth pap>] rcvd [0][LCP ConfReq id=0xca <auth chap md5> <magic 0x12d0dc13>] sent [0][LCP ConfNak id=0xca <auth pap>] rcvd [0][LCP ConfReq id=0xcb <auth chap md5> <magic 0x12d0dc13>] sent [0][LCP ConfNak id=0xcb <auth pap>] rcvd [0][LCP ConfReq id=0xcc <auth chap md5> <magic 0x12d0dc13>] sent [0][LCP ConfNak id=0xcc <auth pap>] rcvd [0][LCP ConfReq id=0xcd <auth chap md5> <magic 0x12d0dc54>] sent [0][LCP ConfRej id=0xcd <auth chap md5>] Apr 25 08:38:59 tei 102 calling <my_isp_no.>, with ? Well, whatever your ISP says, it look very much like they want to use chap here. How about switching to chap and seeing if that works?
