My main computer though looks like a DOS graphic from years ago, a half screen sized blue box with the menu choices in it, and a text message below it. It works, but I cannot see a way to enter any grub options (without going to a grub command line and entering a lot more than used to be).
<snip> Put something like: "gfxmenu (hd0,1)/boot/message" in your menu.lst -- and make sure that the partition reference is correct and I think you also need the gfxboot package (but that package may just be for logo generation). This fixed it, but in the process, I learned a few bad things. Yast messed it up, so that config must be messed up. It erased the gfxmenu line in menu.lst, and messed up GRUB so I couldn't boot. I thought, no worries, I'll just boot to the rescue system and fix grub. Shock! The rescue system in 10.1 would not handle my Raid 1 arrays. Nothing I tried worked. I then used my 9.3 DVD, booted into its rescue system, which had no problem with the raid 1, and fixed grub manually. So in the process, I learned that the 10.1 rescue system cannot handle linux software raid 1. That is terrible. Is it my DVD (downloaded 6 CD isos and used makeSUSEdvd to make it), or can someone confirm that their 10.1 rescue system does not handle raid1?

Since the other computer didn't have it installed, I figured I didn't need it. Crazy as it seems, I can get my wireless Linksys WMP52G card working flawlessly with SUSE 10.0. I can't however get the audio hardware to work. Will not detect audio hardware. Driver chipset is Allegro. Any help appreciated, thanks.
Fixed issue, forgot to format drive prior to installing, fixed issue. Let's see if yast breaks it! yahoo! ----- Original Message ----- From: "My Group" <mygroup@charter.net> To: "SuSE Linux Mailing list" <suse-linux-e@suse.com> Sent: Saturday, August 19, 2006 4:36 PM Subject: Re: [SLE] Sound drivers - Allegro
