Enable it. If the queue disables "automatically" from time to time then there is a problem with your USB system. A queue becomes automatically disabled by the cupsd if there are certain errors when data is sent via the backend (in your case the USB backend) to the printer. Therefore it looks like a USB problem - not a printing system problem.
