R: R: [opensuse] How to post a support query
Sorry I answered directly to you, not to the list... The problem is that it very difficoult to search this bug, becouse what I see is a sort of continuous reset of the keyboard, and thousonds and thousands of /var/log/messages like: May 7 13:29:40 agoraste01 kernel: input: AT Translated Set 2 keyboard as /class/input/input138940 But 1 to 3:4 lines of this kind are correct in the normal boot of any linux box... So googling is harder than usual.. If you can figure out the question, its quite likely already been encountered by someone else. On Tuesday 08 May 2007, Andrea Lanza wrote:
I already tried here with no answer, I think it is a "bad" problem.
I will try with some linux live version to see if the problem is reproduceable. Then I will try with Suse 10.2.
In the meanwhile I will have a look (and perhaps post) at Bugzilla.novell.com, like you said Thank you very much for your reply

I would like to know how to post a support query. I prepared support.txt but I can't undestrand where to post it.
We have a kernel-level problem in a new HP Server that should be solved.
If support query post should involve the payment of a fee, we are ready
for
this.
Any help will be gratly appreciated Thanks in advance
Andrea
If you are a paying customer (You purchased SLED for example) you should be able to follow the support link on Novell's home page.
If just a regular OpenSuse user you can try here or Bugzilla.novell.com

What type of keyboard is this wireless, serial,or usb. Have you tried another keyboard? If this is a brand new server talk to HP as this does not initially sound like a software issue, (but it could be a timing issue). Keyboards are pretty basic I/O devices and I have never had one act like this, but I do remember some weird things happening when some people got the mouse and keyboard port connectors mixed up. If you establish a remote session with ssh try playing around with some timings. All the log message seems to be indicating is that the keyboard is continuously initiating itself or not responding as expected to initiation (either a hardware issue or connection issue). -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.5 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with SUSE - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFGQF7OasN0sSnLmgIRAlLDAJ4lfI1OPXrFL+TOK17J1Rc5I8IdcQCgny0u R++CQlovoJHYGDaHcnNUW1k= =s7pM -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
