Hi. I have recently installed SuSE (Pro) 8.0, and I now want to use YaST2 to do an automatic online update of it. The problem is that every patch found by YaST2 (automatic online update) is accompanied by a pop-up warning which says: "Cannot check patch [such-and-such] because the GPG package is not installed or the patch description is corrupted. SuSE cannot guarantee that the patch has been created by SuSE". This happens regardless of which SuSE server I am connected to -- and it makes me very nervous about installing any of the patches. According to YaST2 "Install/Remove software", however, gpg IS installed. And it cannot really be that every patch on every SuSE server has a corrupted patch description! Does anyone have any idea what is going on here? SMD (Michael) Alachouzos alacos@equitonica.org http://equitonica.org Date (dd/mm/yyyy) = 25/10/2002
When I used SuSe 8.0 this also occurred and I selected the ignore warning option. YaST was first updated and thereafter the problem was gone. In fact I saw this on two boxes...same procedure worked. Now with 8.1 there is no easy bypass: see the thread on errors reading signatures of RPM's. I have not yet got YaST updated. -- John SMD (Michael) Alachouzos wrote:
