Hi everyone,
I installed a adaptec scsi card so i can use my old zip 250 external scsi
drive, but I'm having some troubles.(8.1)
When i installed the card, and configured the hardware, i checked a check box
that had something to do with loading the SCSI module at boot time, I don't
know if this is contributing to my problems ...
From info I found in the archives, I added a mount point and the information
to fstab, but sometimes when i click on the zip icon on the kde desktop i get
a message saying it is already mounted under the info in mtab.
entry in fstab ...
/dev/sda4 /media/zip vfat noauto,user,rw 0 0
entry in mtab...
/dev/sda4 /media/zip vfat rw,noexec,nosuid,nodev,user=framau 0 0
What's the difference between mtab and fstab? Should my zip be in both?
On the few occasions where the shortcut does open up konqueror, it sends me to
http://navigation.realnames.com/resolver.dll?action=navigation&realname=file
%3A&charset=iso-8859-1&providerid=180&fallbackuri=http%3A//www.google.com
/search%3Fq%3Dfile%253A
Any idea how this url got there?
I thought maybe it was a konqueror issue but if I mount a floppy, cd, or my
shared windows drive i go straight to the right directory.
If I type in /media/zip I can see the contents of the zip, so it does work i
just get sidetracked a little.
Then if I try to umount it by right clicking the icon, umount isn't there.
So I have to umount by hand.
Any ideas on how to get the shortcut to work?
Thanks in advance

Just slightly OT, I've noticed in the URL above as well as the man page for fstab(5) that the root filesystem should have an fs_passno of 1, yet every fresh SuSE install that I can recall has placed a 2 here. What's up with that? Am I just seeing things - and if so, why can't they be prettier? -- JAY VOLLMER JVOLLMER@VISI.COM TEXT REFS DOUBLEPLUSUNGOOD SELFTHINK VERGING CRIMETHINK IGNORE FULLWISE

I don't see it on my systems: 7.3: /dev/hda3 / ext2 defaults 1 1 8.1: /dev/hda6 / reiserfs defaults 1 1 fs_passno is 1 in my case. -- Alexandr.Malusek@imv.liu.se
