How can I configure samba to startup automatically, as soon as linux starts up. (so that it is running all the time and i dont even have to log on to start it). regards phoenix

Yast2 > System > Runlevel Editor > Runlevel Properties and SMB You have to set SMB to "Yes", and it will start up at boottime.
